BOSTON BRUINS BEAR
In collaboration with artist Harry Weber, Vlad created the sculpture of a bear that commemorates 100 years of Bruins hockey in Boston and serves as a tribute to the team’s fans. The mascot stands in Portal Park, just outside TD Garden. The sculpture stands 6 feet tall, 10 feet long and weighs 3,500 pounds. The bear is composed of ninety individual bronze pieces welded together. After the large sculpture was completed, the digital scan was made and 18” Bear’s maquette was printed by a 3D printer. Multiple smaller bronze sculptures of Bruins Bear were created as trophies or gifts.
